We’re tabling at Opening Day of the Wayland Winter Farmers’ Market! This is the region’s biggest and best winter market, with more than 60 small-batch vendors selling amazing local foods – cheeses, winter root veggies, fresh breads, prepared foods, wines, sustainably raised meats, fresh fish chowders, scratch-made pies, and more!

While you’re there, stop by our table to hear about our locally sourced, community-owned grocery store. With more than 1,000 member Owners on board and our site search underway, opening day is not far off!

We’re honored to present the Co-op to the Women’s Business Network on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 6:30pm! Founded almost 30 years ago, the WBN supports women in business and professional practices, providing guidance and advice to women who manage a small business or are interested in starting one.

We’ll get the “pre-meeting” started, as our Director of Communications, Lorne Bell, shares the ins and outs of the Assabet Village Co-op Market, our locally sourced, community-owned grocery store coming to the area. He’ll talk about the positive impact Co-ops have on local businesses, the environment, and the community. And of course, he’ll stick around to answer all your questions. Take info with you or become a Co-op Owner on the spot!

All are welcome to this meeting. Come hear about the Co-op and learn about the WBN, and we’ll see you on Feb. 7!

Come hear from professional beekeeper Stephen Burney, owner of one of the region’s best apiaries, Hudson Hives. Stephen will teach us the ins and outs of starting our own backyard hives, and he’ll bring delicious honey from his own hives to sample. (No live bees will be present.)

You’ve probably heard about the Assabet Village Co-op Market, an initiative to open a full-service, community-owned grocery store in Maynard. But did you know that Maynard was home to lots of cooperative businesses – including a thriving food co-op, oil company, bank, and more – for more than 70 years?

Come hear historian David Mark as he explores Maynard’s deep cooperative roots, from the first Finnish immigrants in the 1800s to today’s efforts to build a thriving food co-op for the region. Hear about our town’s cooperative past and get inspired for the opening of the Assabet Village Co-op Market!
